Max L. Morton PhD, LPT, ATC (retired)
Dr. Morton was an athletic trainer for the Denver Broncos, high schools in Texas, U of
Denver and Colorado State University. His PhD is in exercise physiology. He was a
consultant for the USOC Modern Pentathlon team. Dr. Morton developed cardiac
rehabilitation for the community of Fort Collins, CO, Wellness Process & Industrial
Rehabilitation for the Coors Brewery and gold mining companies in Elko NV. He does
ergonomic consulting for industry. He and his wife developed the chronic disease
management program for Penrose St. Francis Health System. His degrees are from: U
of Utah, Mayo Clinic, Colorado State U, and Case-Western Reserve U.
Maija Marchman, PT
Maija is a physical therapist and attended North Georgia College and State University
to receive her master's degree in physical therapy. She has a concentration in
manual therapy and enjoys working with spinal patients. Maija has directed several
Physical Therapy Month activities to promote health and wellness in the community
and would love to continue to promote wellness in the Colorado Springs area. She is
very active in outside activities including snowboarding, running, and mountain biking.
Shannon Stichka, PTA
Shannon is a Physical Therapist Assistant. She received her Bachelors degree in
Sports Health & Wellness from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, and
her Associates degree in Applied Science for Physical Therapist Assistant from Pueblo
Community College. Shannon just received her certification as an Industrial Rehab
Technician to perform Job Demand Analysis, as well as work hardening & conditioning
programs. She is also a licensed massage therapist & figure skating coach.
Charlotte Swanson, COTA
Charlotte is a Occupational Therapist Assistant. She has extensive experience in
dealing with orthopedic and neurological conditions. She works in both our outpatient
clinic as well as in our sub-acute center.
Scott Rea MOT, OTR
Scott is our primary Occupational Therapist and owner. Scott is a graduate of Alma
Collage with a BS in Exercise Physiology, he then did graduate work at The Ohio State
University in Exercise Physiology and was involved with several human and equine
muscle physiology research projects. Scott then worked in healthcare consulting for
several years before attending Concordia University-Wisconsin where he received his
Masters' of Occupational Therapy. Scott's major interest is in upper extremity care,
particularly in shoulder and elbow dysfunction. He is also a certified to perform
Functional Capacity Evaluations through OCCS. He is currently involved in starting
several research projects in conservative management of musculoskeletal pain.
