Injury Prevention

One of our top priorities at Edge Rehab and Wellness is to keep our clients injury free while competing in high school or college athletics, going out on the golf course with friends, or exercising to keep you healthy and active.

Overuse injuries are sometimes difficult to diagnose and treat because they are subtle and usually occur over time.  When repetitive traumas affect the tendons, bones, muscles, and joints, an overuse injury develops.  Common examples include tennis elbow, swimmer’s shoulder, Achilles tendonitis, and shin splints.

In order to prevent these overuse injuries it is important to have a specific routine of stretching and flexibility exercises to perform prior to starting any activity.  If injury does occur, seek the advice of one of our licensed therapists to get an accurate recommendation for further care and prevent recurrent problems.
